How to create In-App purchases in Google Play Console

Create matching in-app products and subscriptions in Google Play Console so purchases configured in the Control Panel can be sold in your Android app.

When you create in-app purchases in the control panel, you must also create the corresponding products in Google Play Console. The Product ID in Google Play must exactly match the Product ID created in the Control Panel. This applies to consumables, non-consumables, and subscriptions.

Requirements

  • You must be on a Growth or Scale plan to use in-app purchases
  • You must have access to your Google Play Console account
  • In-app purchases must already be created in the Control Panel

How to create in-app purchases in Google Play Console

  1. Log in to Google Play Console

  2. Select your app

  3. In the left navigation, go to  Monetize with Play 

  4. Click Products, then choose one of the following based on the purchase type:

    • One-time products (for consumable and non-consumable purchases)

    • Subscriptions 

  5. Choose One-time products 

  6.  Click Create one-time product 

     

  7. Enter product details

    • Product ID

      1. Must exactly match the Product ID created in the Control Panel

      2. This value is case-sensitive

    •  Name & Description 

      1.  The Name can be any internal name for your reference 

  8. Click Next

  9. Set pricing
    • Click on Set Prices
    • Choose Bulk edit pricing
    • Select countries, click Continue
    • Enter the price and the currency (for example, $9.00)
    • Click Apply
    • Click Activate
  10. Repeat steps 4–9 for each product you created in Buildfire:
    1. Consumable products
    2. Non-consumable products
    3. Subscriptions

  11. For subscriptions only
  • Go to Subscriptions
  • Click Create subscription
  • Enter subscription details
    •  Product ID 
      •  Must exactly match the Product ID created in the Buildfire Control Panel 
      •  This value is case-sensitive 
    •  Name 
      •  Name can be any internal name for your reference 
  •  Click Create 
  •  Click Add base plan 
  •  Enter a base plan ID (enter s unique id) 
  •  Select Auto-renewing 
  •  Set the billing period (weekly, monthly, yearly) 
  •  Set pricing and activate 

Pro tips

  • Android apps typically require only one app submission to enable in-app purchases, unlike iOS which requires resubmission for each new product

  • Subscriptions require a base plan. Subscriptions will not activate until a base plan is created and published

  • Test with licensed testers. Use Google Play Console’s license testing to validate purchases before publishing
